-A Personal Look into Shannon-

Well...it looks like you finally found me, eh?

I am going to apologize before I do anything else. I have been so crammed with school work, that I haven't done anything to my web sites. The thing is, I know how to make my site look better (I went to a web seminar - you should be proud), it's just that things are so crazy with school right now that I have to wait until summer and let me tell you, there's nothing that I want to do more than fix up this web page. It's driving me nuts!! Anyway...

I am trying to find things to write down on this web site, but that's kinda tough (not too much exciting stuff goes on in my life - seriously...). At any rate, I guess some introductions are necessary eh? Well, here goes. My name is Shannon. I grew up in a little town in New York and I am currently a junior at Geneseo State. Geneseo is the same type of little town that I am used to - maybe too used to really. Geneseo basically has cows running loose all over town, toothless men driving around in their pickups (complete with gun racks), looking for innocent college girls to prey on. Just kidding. Though Geneseo might be small, it really is a nice town, however something needs to be done with the parking here. There's never anywhere to park. It's awful!

Okay. So much for that digression...on with the introduction. As I was saying, my name is Shannon and I am a junior at Geneseo State. I am an Art Studio Major (Hey! Don't laugh!) and I also have a minor in both English writing and Graphic Design. Following graduation in December of 1999 (that's right baby! I'm graduating early!), I will take a semester off before attending Rochester Institute of Technology in Rochester, New York (duh) to fullfill requirements towards a masters in Computer Graphic Design, hopefully with a concentration in Web Page Design and Multimedia work. Following that...who knows? Hopefully my web pages will look halfway decent. Besides that, more graduate school? No idea. Teacher? Maybe, but that's two more years at RIT. Graphic design work? More likely. Jobless bum living with my parents? Sure hope not. Scary thought.

While at good 'ol Geneseo, I thought, "hmmm...why not try out for the soccer team?". So I did and out of 40 girls, I was one of the allustrious 20 that were chosen at the end of preseason. Geneseo State Women's Soccer play Division Three soccer, which is fine with me because at this point, I feel that Division One soccer would be way too stressful. We play in these divisions: SUNYAC, NYSWCAA, ECAC and NCAA. In my three years, we have never gotten a bid to the NCAA's, but we did win the NYSWCAA championships last fall. That should count for something right? Besides, there's always next year. Ever since my freshman year, I have been a starting defenseman. This is kind of strange because throughout high school I always played offense. Quite the switch. I still haven't adapted to the position and it's been three years! Pathetic. During my sophomore year, I was honored as a first team All-State pick and an Honorable Mention SUNYAC pick. Pretty impressive eh? Just kidding.

Enough about school. I hate talking about it, because I just want to graduate and get on with my life. At any rate, I also like music. Some of my favorites include (hold tight, this is a long list...): Ani DiFranco, Sarah MacLachlan, 10,000 Maniacs, Natalie Merchant, Barenaked Ladies, Jewel, Tori Amos and the Dave Matthews Band. Sorry that they are all so mainstream, but what can I say? I can't help what I like and that it what I like I guess.

I also love the televeision show South Park that airs on Comedy Central on Wenesday nights at 10PM. That show is the best. I love to laugh, so along with those little "scamps" (as the boys on South Park are called), I enjoy watching comedies too. Clerks, Mallrats, Tommy Boy, Black Sheep, Happy Gilmore, Billy Madison and Monty Python and the Holy Grail are some of the "best" movies atop my list (this one a long list as well).

As far as transportation goes...well, what I'd really like is a Toyota 4Runner (yeah, like that's going to happen sometime in the near future!). Preferably a navy blue or dark green one with a tan interior (leather of course!), the rack on the front grill, tinted windows, AC, CD player, I mean the works! But, I am just a lowly college student, and that is a dream that will have to wait. Well, unless I can get hooked up and find a used one cheap - cheap translating into $18,000, which really isn't all that cheap. By my standards anyway. But until my 4Runner dream is fullfilled, I am content, I guess, in driving my little Grand Am around. Sigh. Here's a picture of my dream vehicle nonetheless...

Isn't it beautiful???
